_For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. 15 For you have not received the spirit of slavery again to fear. But you have received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba, Father.” (3).png

Scripture  - Psalm 103:1-4 [MEV]

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.  Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits, who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

Understanding who I am in Christ has been a journey. When I made a commitment to follow Jesus I knew I needed to change the way I saw myself. What I didn’t realize was how much I needed to change. I quickly came to the conclusion that most of what I had come to believe about my identity was false. Major disappointments in my life left me broken and confused. There were gaping wounds in my heart that needed to be healed. The longer they went untreated the worst I felt about myself.

Discovering how much God loves me has revived my soul. Being forgiven by his grace has empowered me to forgive others. It has freed me up to experience a life that I didn’t think was possible for someone like me. Getting a hold of God’s word has been a life-changing experience in every way. Everytime I opened my Bible I get a fresh perspective on who God is and who I am in Him.

Embracing my identity as God’s daughter has been so sweet. He’s proven to be a good father with capacity beyond my understanding. This devotional is merely a reflection of what I’ve learned along the way. They contain lessons that I meditate on daily. The work of transforming the way we see ourselves is a continuous journey. God crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies. Let’s keep our crown on.

I pray you continue down the path of discovering the beautiful truth hidden in your identity. May this resource be a significant reminder along the way
