Starting Creative Gatherings
ABC Framework
-
Pray + clarify your why.
Identify needs + opportunities in your city.
Take stock of resources (people, spaces, networks).
Practical Outworking: Find Your People → creatives are already around you. Who are the first 2–3 co-laborers?
-
Don’t start with a conference—prototype with a low-bar event.
Examples: Open mic, art share, meal + poetry, house show.
Tip: Small + consistent beats big + rare.
Practical Outworking: Host single events → treat them as experiments. Reflect and learn after each one.
-
Resist doing it alone. Invite shared ownership.
Rotate leadership, diversify gifts, celebrate wins.
Build sustainability into the DNA: rest, shared roles, celebration.
Practical Outworking: Create Ongoing Rhythms → transform one-offs into rhythms (monthly, quarterly, annually).
